Council

CHRE’s Council is its governing body and consists of nine members. There are seven non-executive members and two executive members.

• a Chair appointed by the Privy Council
• three members, including the Audit Committee Chair, appointed by the Secretary of State for Health
• three members appointed by Ministers in each of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
• two executive members appointed by the non-executive members

The composition and role of the Council changed on 1 January 2009 with the commencement Order for provisions in the Health & Social Care Act 2008.
